Local and sustainable seafood, direct to you

Buying locally and sustainably sourced Australian seafood is not that straightforward. Australia has some of the highest quality seafood in the world yet much of what is purchased here is frozen and often from unknown overseas locations. When selecting produce for your customers, high quality and sustainability are two of the most important factors when deciding to purchase. Australian Fish Auctions provide an easier and more straightforward way for you to deliver this type of transparency to your customers.

Australian Fish Auctions is the first ever online seafood auction platform and we are operating alongside Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-op as our first supplier. By running daily ‘Dutch’ auctions, we are providing wholesalers and retailers with more high-quality options, more often to secure fresh Australian seafood with full transparency. Our fishermen come to the docks each morning with the day’s catch is then received and checked for quality by the Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operative, packed with ice and listed on the website for that day’s auctions.

Most of the Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operative fishermen work on smaller vessels in the waters of the Coffs Coast and return to port every day. This close proximity to the fishing grounds ensures exceptionally high quality and freshness of produce.

Coffs Harbour Fishermen’s Co-operation

Sustainability is key to our produce and we pride ourselves on delivering fresh, sustainably caught seafood. Did you know that Australia now imports more seafood than we produce for domestic consumption? With it difficult to obtain information on many overseas fisheries, Australian Fish Auctions is proud to be transparent and upfront about where our produce comes from. We allow our suppliers to market themselves, allowing greater transparency between the buyer and the seller.

If you’re wondering how our produce can be of the highest quality and freshness, it’s easy. After each Lot is sold, we pack everything directly at the wharf, then courier them to you refrigerated and ready for you to sell to your clients. For more information about how we get fish to your area, or any questions about our seafood, contact us.
